We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Commercial Manager. As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing a portfolio of contracts associated to infrastructure and non-infrastructure schemes, from minor capital maintenance programmes to industry-leading projects. Your main responsibility will be to manage the commercial process throughout the project lifecycle, helping to ensure that contracts are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard, whilst also maintaining and developing relationships with our Delivery Partners.

What you'll be doing:

    • Developing expertise in the suite of New Engineering Contracts (NEC3 & NEC4) as a key member of the Strategic Client's 'centre of excellence' in contract management
    • Providing sound commercial advice and management of sourcing strategies, procurement events and Framework call-off contract awards to ensure optimum contract and supplier selection and demonstrable value for money
    • Negotiation and agreement of Target Price and ensuring that contract risk registers are appropriate for the work procured and assigned correctly to the contracted parties
    • Ensuring effective post-contract management and administration of the SWW Capital Programme; managing numerous NEC contracts using our contract administration platform from pre-contract award to Final Account
    • Ensuring all key contract performance metrics are reported to enable delivery partner analysis
    • Collection and analysis of unit cost data in line with SWW's established methodology and effective use of cost data for producing estimates for capital schemes and optioneering

What we are looking for:

    • A Civil/Commercial/Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent
    • Proven experience as a QS/Contract/Commercial Manager
    • A demonstrable history of adding significant value
    • Extensive knowledge and experience of construction contracts, cost management and estimating
    • Advanced analytical skills
    • Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel/Word/Outlook
    • Strong commercial awareness
    • A full UK driving licence

£45,000 - £60,000 a year

Joining us on a full-time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum plus a relocation package of up to £8,000 (subject to eligibility) with excellent benefits and development opportunities within our established Engineering Team.
