Job Introduction

We have a vacancy for a Commercial Manger (change) to work within the Optioneering, Mitigation and Change (OMC) team on our HS2 London Tunnels contract.

Role Responsibility

  • Main Contract management
  • Commercial reporting associated with change management.
  • Assessment of change impacts against the program, focusing on Core Change, and the consolidating of Area Change
  • Establish and manage entitlement.
  • Measurement and quote development
  • Development, management, and reporting of project metrics
  • Liaison and negotiation with the Customer's commercial and/or project team
  • Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting the Area and Core Commercial managers with the Implementation of the commercial procedures and reporting to ensure compliance with company and contract requirements
  • Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues to support X20
  • Manage and lead relevant Risk Reduction meetings.
  • Manage and lead OMC Change Management meetings.
  • Investigate and draft contract communications including General notices,
  • Provide contractual and commercial risk advice to the commercial team.
  • Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree qualified or equivalent ideally in construction commercial management
  • Must have experience in working complex building, civils works or MEP Works.
  • Must have excellent NEC experience.
  • Have experience in managing others and working in large teams
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Must have both claims and dispute resolution working experience
  • Must have a good experience of UK law.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of the NEC
  • Must have both good presentation and excel skills
  • RICS qualified or equivalent, or working towards
  • Be able to motivate others and provide training where necessary
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills are a must, along with working as part of a team promoting our JV culture and values.

About the Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK's new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK's 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
