The Retail Finance Commercial FP&A Manager is a key business partner to the commercial and trading teams, providing financial insight, challenge, and support to drive profitable growth across the grocery retail business. The role leads the budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis processes for commercial functions, ensuring robust financial planning and decision-making in a highly competitive Irish retail market.

You will be responsible for
1. Business Partnering & Commercial Support
- Act as a trusted advisor to commercial, buying, and trading teams, providing financial guidance on category performance, pricing, promotions, and supplier negotiations.
- Support commercial initiatives with robust financial analysis, scenario modelling, and investment appraisals.
- Influence decision-making by presenting clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
2. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for commercial P&L lines (sales, margin, supplier income, etc.).
- Deliver timely and accurate monthly performance reporting, highlighting key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and commercial projects.
3. Performance Management
- Monitor and analyse margin performance at category, product, and supplier level.
- Identify trends, variances, and root causes, recommending corrective actions to maximise profitability.
- Track and report on key commercial KPIs (e.g., sales growth, margin rate, promotional effectiveness).
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with commercial, finance, supply chain, and central finance teams.
- Communicate complex financial information in a clear, concise manner to non-finance stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional projects (e.g., range reviews, new product launches, supplier negotiations).
5. Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvements in reporting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance insight and efficiency.
- Champion best practice in commercial finance across the business.
You will need
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 3+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally in retail, FMCG, or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the Irish grocery retail market.
- Advanced analytical skills, with experience in financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge and support senior stakeholders.
- Proven track record in business partnering and delivering value-added insight.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial systems.
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.
