As a Commercial Finance Manager your role will play a critical role in the Brewing & Brands division of Greene King, central to setting off trade & export sales strategy, supporting pricing decisions and revenue management, while standing shoulder to shoulder with the business, influencing senior stakeholders as we supply our off trade customers. All while motivating and inspiring 1 direct report on their commitments to supporting the B&B marketing function.
This role provides the opportunity to work in a fast-paced commercial facing role within an established forward-thinking business. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a great team on a hybrid working basis (50% office based/50% home working) from our Bury St Edmunds or Burton-on-Trent offices.

Job Description
- Full Ownership of end-to-end P&L responsibilities including (but not limited to)
- Period End - reviewing/overseeing the financial accounting and performance of the Trade Channels, engaging with R2R function and business stakeholders where required. Ultimately leading to producing and owning a Performance Report which is a key output that provides the insight for the Brewing and Brands Executive Review session and is a key Audit control. There is also a requirement to regularly review promotional accruals and ensure Account Managers are aligned to the net accrual balance for their accounts.

- Budget/Forecasting - develop and manage the comprehensive annual budget and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with wider business goals. This process requires an in-depth analysis of both volume drives and financial data, allowing for a clear breakdown of all moving components in comparison to key benchmarks including prior performance and long-term strategic goals. Engage with cross-functional teams to challenging assumptions, validate inputs and ensure the final budget is robust, realistic, and reflective of current business conditions, while identifying potential risks and opportunities.

- Risks & Opportunities (Profit Optimisation and Risk Management) - oversee the identification and mitigation of financial risks maintaining a R&O document that is shared with the Sales Director, Head of Commercial Finance and FP&A periodically - this requires in-depth awareness of the Trade Channel performance, understanding and knowledge of wider industry factors, as well as maintaining a free-flowing communication channel with Account Managers on any latest account activity.
- Insight / Influence / Impact - leverage data-driven insights to influence strategic decision-making, providing in-depth financial analysis that looks to have real business impact, improves profitability and supports operational efficiency across all business units.
- Audit - uphold existing controls and ensure integrity of processes by identifying any gaps within internal controls and implementing corrective actions to ensure compliance. Liaise with both internal and external Audit when required.
- Line Management of Assistant Finance Analyst both operationally and development. Operationally involves ensuring that the Assistant Finance Analyst is prioritising key workstreams and delivering 1st class support to the Marketing cost centre. Development will include prioritising 1-2-1s, holding development/career conversations and being a "leader" figure that inspires and encourages growth and aids in providing solutions for aspirations.
Qualifications
- Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with 2 years PQE.
- Strong analytical skills, logical thought process and attention to detail.
- Energetic individual who can work both autonomously and in a team environment, transitioning between the two in a natural manner.
- Confident to challenge but equally able to listen.
- Capable of producing engaging insight and ever seeking to advance understanding.
Strong communication, time management and problem-solving with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
