In the infrastructure business, we are the leading owner and operator of vertiports to enable electric air taxi operations around the world. Dubai is expected to be the first market to launch commercial flights in 2026 and Skyports has exclusive rights to develop the infrastructure.

The drone services business provides cargo drone delivery, surveillance, and inspection solutions for the medical, logistics and e-commerce sectors, flying for the likes of the National Health Service (NHS) and Royal Mail in the UK.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join our dynamic growing international business. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the financial performance of the business by providing strategic financial insights, managing budgets, and overseeing financial operations related primarily to our infrastructure projects but will also include support for our Drones Services business. This role requires a strong understanding of the property development industry, excellent financial acumen, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.

This is a full-time role based in our Kennington, London office with some flexibility for remote working and an expectation that there may be some international travel.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partner

  • This is a Business Partner role primarily to support the Infrastructure team to ensure they are well supported as they work with customers to develop Vertiports around the world
  • Development project accounting - working with Development Managers to prepare budgets, provide cashflow forecast and KPI reporting.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the financial planning and analysis process for property development projects, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Conduct financial modelling to evaluate potential development opportunities and assess project feasibility.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and risks.

Project Finance Management

  • Oversee the financial aspects of all development projects, from initial investment appraisal through to project completion.
  • Monitor project cash flows, ensuring sufficient liquidity and optimizing financing structures.
  • Coordinate with project managers to track costs, revenues, and overall financial performance, addressing any variances or issues promptly.
  • Manage relationships with lenders, investors and other financial stakeholders to secure funding, ensure compliance with financial covenants and provide timely and accurate reporting to them.

Strategic Financial Support

  • Partner with the Infrastructure team to assess new opportunities and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support investment decisions, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of proposed business strategies and ensure alignment with long-term company objectives.
  • Support the production of consolidated monthly accounts from different systems internationally, including multiple subsidiaries and joint ventures.
  • Liaise with international accountants to ensure their outputs are timely, robust and consistent with group accounting policies and compliant with relevant reporting requirements.
  • Provide consistent, reliable and insightful management information to the wider business.
  • Support the wider finance team, including the Drone Services business
  • Provide required support for the group annual audit and accounts process.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with property development projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  • Oversee internal controls and audit processes to safeguard company assets and financial integrity.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of property development finance, including funding mechanisms, financial regulations, and market trends.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • High level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Must haves:

  • Qualified chartered or certified accountant with at least 5 years PQE.
  • A strong background in financial reporting and financial accounting, experience of working internationally preferred.
  • Strong sense of ownership, confidence in own abilities and decisions.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to take action in a very fast-paced environment that has a constantly evolving set of priorities.
