About the Role

Base Location: Perth or Glasgow

Salary:£47,600 - £71,600+ performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern:Permanent| Full Time | Flexible First options available

We have an exciting opportunity to join SSE Renewablesas a Commercial Finance Manager to partner our Onshore Wind, Solar & Battery ("OWSB") business focussing on the operational assets of the OSWB business. The role will concentrate on performance improvement, business analysis & insight, strategic business planning, budgeting & forecasting activities. This is a forward-looking role that will align will work closely with the senior business roles providing timely and effective support and challenge. Specific responsibilities include:

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance OWSB and supporting them partnering various senior business stakeholders being the face of finance for the business with the core responsibility of the delivery of the monthly results and forecast, annual budget and 10 year plans

Part of operational OWSB leadership team, being the voice of finance within the team and using this forum to proactively challenge the business on financial performance, drive improvements, providing insight, knowledge, and recommendations. It is expected that the CFM will contribute and provide challenge to non-finance related topics as members of the leadership team.

- Prepare, co-ordinate and leading robust Directorate forecasts, budgets and longer-term planning including stakeholder sign off, providing financial insight and challenge as necessary to ensure budgets are accurate, realistic, and aligned with the broader SSER strategy.

- With the focus on operations there will be a demand to analyse, report and advise on asset performance, understanding our commercial optimisation through hedging and PPA contracts as well as reviewing the assets operational costs

- Contribute to or lead on business improvement / deep dive projects requested by the business or pro-actively put forward by Finance and work with the business teams to review and input into commercial contracts, hedging, efficiency opportunities and offering insight to returns, opportunity and risk

- Assist in project investment cases, identifying key risks and opportunities with an understanding of the economic and commercial drivers with an eye on internal and external market forces

- Present and articulate financials at JV Boards, Leadership Teams or Management Committee's

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to :

- Be a fully qualified accountant with 2 years+ PQE in a Business Partner / Finance Manager / Management Accountant business-interfacing role with experience of solving business issues of similar scale and complexity.

- Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.

- Have a strong background in a project driven business with understanding of contract management, project delivery and financial planning.

- Excellent skills in interpreting and assimilating from multiple data sources, including external market data, and rendering into meaningful insight and appropriate recommendations and clear actions..

- You will be able to effectively communicate financial performance to operational colleagues to embed financial understanding within the business.
