Competitive Salary

£4200 Car allowance (or £3700 paid monthly as £308.33) paid plus Healthcare, 18% annual bonus potential with 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 10 years service

Coventry (min 3 times per week) + some international travel

We're looking for a Commercial Customs Integration Manager to lead the transformation of our customs systems, processes, and stakeholder engagement. This is a pivotal role with cross-functional influence, offering the opportunity to shape how we manage customs change across our international operations and ensure compliance in a fast-evolving global trade environment.

About the Role

As Commercial Customs Integration Manager, you'll:

  • Lead the end-to-end change management process for customs-related systems, software, and operational improvements.
  • Attend government and industry forums to anticipate and prepare for future customs changes.
  • Oversee the evaluation, planning, and implementation of customs changes with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Act as the key liaison between internal teams, external vendors, and government stakeholders.
    Manage customs software systems and support upgrades, testing, and alignment with compliance and business needs.
  • Ensure all changes meet international trade laws and collaborate with Group Tax and Legal to maintain compliance.
  • Support commercial teams in delivering efficient, cost-effective customs solutions.
  • Implement governance processes and maintain clear documentation and audit trails for all customs changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customs efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Manage team resources, set priorities, and assign tasks to support successful delivery of customs integration projects

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Customs, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in customs management and software change, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement.
  • Deep knowledge of global customs regulations, compliance, and trade laws.
  • Proven experience managing systems/software changes in customs or trade operations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, especially across compliance, IT, legal, and commercial teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
  • A diplomatic approach with the ability to challenge constructively and drive reform.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with customs systems such as AEB, ASM, HMRC CDS, and regimes like Transit, warehousing, ETSF, and ITSF.
