As a Commercial Analyst you will be working in a truly unique category in Currys that balances requirements of both the mobile handset manufacturers and mobile networks to deliver the overall customer proposition. You will have accountability for ensuring that all of our customer offers are available for sale in the relevant channel and priced correctly for our customers. You will also brief teams around the business on the right propositions and prices for any customer facing material.

You will need to bring a collaborative approach to work as you will be required to work across a number of teams including the likes of the Handset Buying Team, Network teams, Central Planning teams, Go to Market teams, Online team, Services Team, Credit teams, Finance teams, Retail teams, Online teams and also CLC teams (Currys Loughborough Campus) as you will be collectively aligned on driving the development of the Mobile business forward.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Being accountable for all suppler investment being communicated out to various teams across the business and ensuring investment is optimised through our pricing team and checking that pricing decisions taken are in line with pricing policies and measured against the appropriate CPI metric
  • Supporting the buying team to drive decisions around ranging devices, manufacturers volume targets and seeking commercial opportunities to grow profits and sales for the group
  • Liaising with Handset and Accessories buying teams to drive supplier investment relevant propositions for the channel
  • Supporting development of bundle propositions across the group to develop the requirement to support more connected journeys and ecosystems where appropriate across the group
  • Supporting developing propositions to focus specifically on the returning base of customers coming back on Mobile
  • Reviewing the data for what customers purchased 2 years ago and recommend the right customer proposition to get customers to re-transact when their contract comes for renewal and working with manufacturers for investment to target these customers
  • Briefing teams as per the nominations process and briefing the Go to Market team ensure all propositions get appropriate representation in any available marketing materials
  • Supporting manufacturer and network relationships with Key global brands and work with these teams to agree and execute high value, funded initiatives in all channels - including sponsored marketing, fixtures

You will need:

  • Attention to detail - ensure that all prices and propositions are briefed correctly and are right first time
  • Numerical and analytical experience to review data and provide recommendations/actions plans to drive sales, profit and cash
  • Customer champion with excellent commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
