Job Title: Account Director

Reports To: Regional Head of KAM

Background & Context

The Account Director is accountable for overall commercial and operational performance for the entire supply chain, across various strategic customers. This will be achieved through proactive and successful leadership, driving business growth and enhancing the customer experience. The primary function of this role is to retain and accelerate the growth of strategic customers.

Role Overview

The Account Director should be deeply passionate about customer success, developing talent, and working strategically across internal functions to achieve cohesive best practice supply chain and solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading the performance and continuous improvement of retail and brand Supply Chains, with a focus on people development, reliability, innovation, service, cost and quality.

  • Contribution to strategic initiatives and VCPs

Key Role Content

  • Manage assigned accounts, pro-actively delivering revenue and GP growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver above budget performance on all revenue and profitability targets for assigned customers through proactive management of costs and additional business opportunities.
  • Create and maintain key account plans that deliver growth and increased customer satisfaction.
  • Support the development of customer specific solutions utilising the wider EV Cargo Group and 3rd parties as appropriate.
  • Assist customer with business case formulation, put together business reviews for internal sign off, negotiate pricing & terms with the customer.
  • Understand the latest supply chain solutions and strategic thinking.
  • Apply strategy to continuous improvement of people, process and products.
  • Ability to deliver robust solutions to the business in a dynamic environment.
  • Understand customer's requirements in each market, channel and country and sets the direction of the supply chain organisation to effectively deliver value.
  • Represent EV Cargo at industry events.
  • Establish excellent working relationships with key customer decision-makers and ensure integration of EV Cargo across the stakeholder matrix.
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities through process enhancement, documentation and post-implementation review processes.
  • Support in the creation and delivery of the supply chain strategy, in line with the Group goals and objectives.
  • Inspires accountability and teamwork, coach, train, and motivate teams, as well as successfully select and integrate talent into the organisation.

Person Specification

Skills & Experience

  • A suitable candidate will have minimum 10+ years' experience in performance of functions as detailed in the role content.
  • Able to develop winning proposals in a variety of formats and create customised, profitable pricing structures in response to the customer's requirements.
  • Demonstrates a persuasive communication style with the ability to influence others through the results of data analysis and interpretation, within EV Cargo, the customer's business and 3rd party organisations.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a rapidly growing and dynamic changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-level.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with senior customer contacts and create an effective internal and external network.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of commercial acumen through knowledge of industry best practice for defining customer requirements and delivering product solutions considering the financial, marketing and operational factors at play.
  • Demonstrates great customer intuition.
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services.
  • Proven leadership in building and managing diverse teams.
