Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Orthopaedic and Dermatology management team.
You will be responsible for the management of admin teams across Orthopaedics and Dermatology, providing a patient-focused administration service to deliver outpatient functions, as well as managing National Quality indicators, for example, 18 weeks Referral to Treatment (RTT) and suspected cancer Two Week Rule (TWR) targets. You will evaluate, develop, and implement processes, pathways, and systems to ensure a quality service is provided for patients, and will be responsible for admin budgets across Orthopaedics and Dermatology. You will provide business / operational management in relation to administrate functions and outpatient services.
You will have the ability to analyse capacity and demand across the administration teams and outpatient services. You will have knowledge of clinical / information governance and will be involved responding to datix and complaints. Finally, you will provide cover for the Senior Performance Manager and represent the Specialty Business Manager in times of absence as and when required.
Main duties of the job
- Actively supports the 18 week processes across the Speciality Business Unit.
- Monitor capacity and demand and initiate process for additional activity to meet demand.
- Be responsible for the appointing of cancer 2 week wait patients, liaising with the clinical teams and administrative staff.
- Assist in the recording and measurement of clinical activity so that it can be costed and reflected into business cases.
- Carry out collection of data for audit purposes to identify areas that require pathway improvement.
- Administrative processes for the patient's RTT pathway meet the quality standards required both nationally and within the Clinical Business Unit are adhered to
