Job overview
Exciting opportunities have arisen; one secondment post for an Acting position on Oval Increased Support and Treatment ward and one substantive position, ward to be confirmed.
The secondment post is for a fixed period of 6 months and provides an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced Clinical Team Leader seeking to broaden their management and supervisory experience.
For both posts we are looking for a forward thinking, emotionally resilient and clinically creditable individual who can thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment. The post-holder must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and motivate staff to deliver the core objectives for the Trust, whilst supporting individual development within the team.
Main duties of the job
These positions are crucial to providing critical patient care and ensuring clinical nursing practice reflects national and local professional standards. The CNM will lead high quality patient care through the effective delivery of the Care Programme Approach (CPA). The CNM is responsible for ensuring care is provided in a safe environment, which is anti-discriminatory and is sensitive to cultural diversity, promotes recovery and which places patient involvement at the heart of its practice.
The CNM must ensure staff are capable of engaging patients therapeutically and demonstrate a high standard of clinical competence including: comprehensive assessment of need, planning & delivery of evidence based interventions and the evaluation of healthcare and of health outcomes.
The Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) role will give you experience of leading and managing a diverse team whilst developing an understanding of how the KPIs link with the provision of care.
The post-holder will ensure that all nursing staff have access to and undertake regular clinical supervision and personal and professional development and work in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Hold a current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nurse. RN3, RNMH, RN4, RN5, RN6,RNLD.
Desirable criteria
- Masters Degree or equivalent experience
- ENB 770 or equivalent
- ENB 998 or45
- Teaching Qualification
- NVQ Assessor
- Relevant post registration health care and/or management qualifications
Experience
Essential criteria
- First line management experience
- Relevant experience in mental health services
- Relevant experience as Band 6 in Mental Health Care or Relevant experience as a Band 7 in inpatient services
- Experience of providing management supervision
- Experience as Primary Nurse (key worker).
Desirable criteria
- Experience of leading teambuilding.
- Experience in teaching/developing nurses.
