Clinical Community Midwifery Manager for Andover Maternity Hub and Midwifery Led Unit- Full time

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic professional to join our community team as a lead for our Andover Maternity Hub and brand new Midwifery Led Unit.

The successful candidate should be a forward thinking, problem solver with experience in all areas of maternity care. We are looking for someone who is motivated and inspired to create a positive environment for staff and patients.

You should have recent experience in intrapartum care in either an acute site, a midwifery led unit or within a homebirth team. You will need to be highly organised and adaptable with proven leadership skills.

Applicants must have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.

At present we are unable to accept candidates who require visa sponsorship or are not fully registered with the NMC.

Main duties of the job

A strong visible leader with clinical and managerial skills. A role model of the highest professional standards of practice and conduct who understands and seeks to improve the overall woman's experience. Working collaboratively and actively within the clinical management team the post holder has
• Managerial responsibility for the provision of safe coordinated care across Hampshire Hospital Maternity Services within the sphere of practice
• Visible clinical leadership through effective monitoring, implementation of evidence-based standards
• Supervising and supporting all levels of staff and delegating women's care and staff appropriately
• Commit to and undertake clinical on-calls for the maternity led unit
• Responsible for providing clinical antenatal/intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care to women
• Creates environment to normalise birth and actively support the public health agenda
• Managerial time - 0.2 wte per week

Essential criteria

  • Registered Midwife
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Practice Assessor

Desirable criteria

  • Educated to Masters level
  • Leadership course

Experience

Essential criteria

  • At least 3 years post registration
  • Experience of service development or quality improvement
  • Experience of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Previous management or leadership experience
  • Experience of audit and/or research

Desirable criteria

  • Previous role leading a team
  • Experience of managing a community team

Skills

  • Ability to problem solve
