The Climate Project Manager will oversee the implementation of cross-functional climate related initiatives, including but not limited to; net-zero underwriting, energy transition, climate related risk and regulation. These projects are transversal meaning that they require the involvement and/or impact more than one function or business unit. The Climate Project Manager will ensure that projects are managed in a holistic fashion ensuring that operational as well as business and regulatory deliverables are met.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Project initiation: Set up and launch (or take over where already in flight) the project working closely with key stakeholders across business and other functions (e.g., underwriting, risk, legal, compliance, claims etc.) on program charter, milestone and project planning/roadmap, KPI definitions. Establish governance structure and onboard project sponsor(s).
  • Project execution: Work closely with workstream leads/business product owners of various teams on the execution and monitoring of project against milestones, KPIs and (where appropriate) budget.
  • Change Management: Identify key change management steps throughout the project life cycle and ensure that change management activities are appropriately followed to ensure success of the program.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and formalize any key issues and risks. Drive resolution and raise key decisions to the appropriate governance committee.
  • Project Reporting: Manage overall communication to all stakeholders (project sponsors/Steering Committee and, Business Engagement Leader / Manager).
  • Subject Matter expert: Bring focused technical or topical expertise and knowledge to the team when needed.
  • Expected to lead projects with limited oversight.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Extensive experience in project management in the insurance industry and in an international environment
  • The ability to manage stakeholders at all levels
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Robust organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Outstanding business acumen
  • Analytical skills to address complex issues
  • Interest in the role that re/insurance has in relation to managing the risks and opportunities associated with a changing climate
  • A recognized project management certification e.g.. Prince2, Agile etc., would be an advantage
