Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the Client Partner is to play a senior leadership role in owning and driving the relationship with two long standing clients in the retail space (Jewellery and Home Improvements). You will play a vital role in looking to the horizon and helping your clients to move their business forward and defining the role that media and communications will play in helping to execute this.

You will lead, inspire and motivate our people within the group to deliver best in class service and output for your clients. You will develop a deep understanding of how each client's business operates and what their key objectives and challenges are. You will then use this knowledge to improve the partnership and develop dentsu solutions to help your clients achieve their business goals; ultimately driving growth, revenue and profitability for both the client and dentsu. Taking a brief making (not just brief taking) mindset is super important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving transformative business results for clients, resulting in client retention and satisfaction whilst ensuring commercial growth.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the clients' businesses, communication model, and lead the planning output, supporting the Planning Directors in day-to-day management of the client.
  • Be a trusted advisor to clients, seen as a strategic partner and leader of their businesses and delivering on their transformative comms plan.
  • Championing Carat's Designing for People agenda and ensuring team adoption of our Planning process to deliver effective & forward-looking communications plans alongside outstanding client service - this is a critical element in delivering on our client's expectations.
  • Work hand-in-hand and have a leading voice with clients' partner agencies, to ensure our strategies are aligned, deadlines hit, responses are integrated, and the work is best positioned to answer client and media objectives.
  • Executing commercial management of accounts alongside the Client Managing Director, including ownership of client contract, optimisation of the people/FTE plan to match requirements, forecasting of secured revenue, cost base, opportunity pipe, and operational finance excellence.
  • Demonstrate team leadership, managing the client service team effectively by ensuring expectations are set and clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders, whilst cultivating and championing a positive and healthy team culture
  • Directly line manage your teams and take responsibility and care for their career development.
  • Successfully leading key new business activities by playing an active role in pitches.

Qualifications + Skills

  • Extensive experience and understanding of media and advertising - working on integrated marketing campaigns, primarily across above-the-line brand and performance clients.
  • Experience in advising/creating detailed media plans for a multimillion-pound billing client.
  • Proven experience of collaborating with partner agencies.
  • A track record of generating revenue for your agency and market-leading work for your clients through your ability to see situations from a commercial perspective.
  • Ability to spot and drive commercial opportunities outside of tradition media (CXM and creative)
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong and lasting relationships with clients.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience - able to explain and sell value adding products to clients and act with diplomacy.
  • A trusted client adviser with strong people management experience and skills.
