Purpose of the Role

This role will work across two of Carat's leading FMCG clients, involving the planning of campaigns as part of the annual planning cycle and managing activations throughout the year. The position includes ownership of specific brands while also supporting the Account Director on others, as well as line‑managing a Client Executive. Success in the role requires strong experience across multiple channels - particularly AV, social, programmatic, and outdoor with mandatory expertise in both TV and digital. You'll be expected to deliver excellent client service, build strong relationships, and collaborate closely with dentsu's wider specialist teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the Business: Support multiple workstreams by organising resources effectively and ensuring smooth delivery against agreed processes.
  • Client Relationship Management: Provide strong client service, work closely with the CAD/CD, and maintain a solid understanding of each client's products and priorities.
  • Client Growth: Spot opportunities to expand work with clients through cross‑sell or up‑sell conversations.
  • Network & Stakeholder Coordination: Handle client requests promptly and accurately, working seamlessly with local markets and dentsu teams.
  • Sharing Best Practice: Promote consistent, high‑quality work by sharing learnings and best practice across teams and markets.
  • Financial Management: Manage PO creation, budget tracking, monthly reconciliations, and ensure all financial processes are accurate and on time.
  • New Business & People Leadership: Support new business efforts and help develop direct reports through clear objectives, regular feedback, and positive leadership.
  • Planning & Activation: Use dentsu tools to build smart consumer journeys, support strategy development, coordinate planning sessions, and apply optimisation learnings to future campaigns.

Person Specification

  • Commercial Awareness: Understands contract terms, evaluates plans with a commercial lens, and stays aware of client‑sector trends and wider market shifts.
  • Media & Strategy Skills: Comfortable using dentsu tools, applying core marketing and media principles, analysing data, and planning across BOE and digital channels.
  • Communication Skills: Strong writer, presenter, and communicator who builds trust with stakeholders and maintains excellent attention to detail.
  • Organisation & Delivery: Manages timelines confidently, anticipates risks, and stays steady and solutions‑focused under pressure.
  • Team Leadership: Provides clear feedback, handles challenging conversations effectively, delegates appropriately, and supports team growth.
  • Collaboration: Builds strong relationships across internal teams, maintains regular communication, and shares insights to support better outcomes.
