We're looking for a Client Director to join Carat in a client-facing role on the prestigious Vodafone account. You'll help lead a high performance team in delivering exceptional client servicing, project and account management, as well as planning innovative, creative, and exceptionally effective campaigns on one of our flagship accounts.

Purpose of the Role

As Client Director, you will be responsible for the delivery of the strategic media plans and client servicing across Vodafone, and maintain a highly collaborative and enduring client relationship.

You will be a trusted advisor to our clients, build strong and impactful relationships with their other external agencies, as well as internal teams within dentsu with the ambition of delivering innovative, impactful, data-driven media plans that drive brand fame.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted advisor to our smart and media savvy Vodafone clients, and second in command to the Managing Partner supporting in running the account day to day.
  • Set the bar high and lead our team and specialist teams by example, showcasing exceptional client servicing and planning prowess.
  • Immerse yourself in the clients' business to intimately understand their challenges, objectives, external economic environment, competitors, and relevant partner agencies. By getting under their skin, we will understand how we can help their business grow.
  • Become a confident user of all dentsu and non-dentsu tools to deliver ad hoc insights and planning recommendations as and when requested, and support the team on practical application of the same.
  • Deliver innovative media plans that excite clients, create value, and deliver ambitious incremental income.
  • Responsibility for overseeing development of team of three account directors, three Managers and an Exec, and working alongside 2 x Strategy Partners and Planning Partner.
  • Champion and facilitate best in class integration between Carat and our clients, their in-house digital team and creative and PR agencies.
  • Maintain accurate account forecasting, and support the MP in identifying new opportunities for growth on the account.
  • Oversee the wider team in ensuring accurate and timely billing & reconciliations.

Qualifications + Skills

  • 8-10 years' experience within planning or comms at a Media agency making you well-versed in media planning within an agency environment and experienced with planning tools.
  • Experience working on a fast paced media account developing media strategies across the full media landscape, including AV, digital, OOH and partnerships.
  • A highly numerical individual with attention to detail who is used to managing annual high-level budgets with multiple campaigns / bursts.
  • An experienced people leader who is able to both mentor and inspire their internal teams and be a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Clear and effective communication style alongside the ability to craft and tell stories within their work.
  • Commercial awareness and proven negotiation Skills (preferable).
