The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the client development team to lead, support and advise on some of the most important client accounts of the firm. The firm has a progressive strategy with clients at the centre. The Client Development Manager will focus on developing specific accounts, together with the wider account teams, for priority, global and regionally strategic clients. In addition, the role will involve sharing and encouraging best practice in relationship management, advocating for the client voice and promoting client feedback.
Responsibilities
Strategic
- To develop a comprehensive understanding of the structure, operations and strategic direction of the relevant client accounts.
- To build an understanding of how and where the firm can best position itself in relation to these clients.
- To guide the account teams though the client planning process, and ensure the strategic direction is maintained and moved forward against the client plan.
- To work alongside the Relationship Partners to implement retention and targeting initiatives to strengthen the relationship between client and firm. The aim is to progressively increase the client revenue streams or share of wallet and profitability.
- To contribute to the broader firm wide approach to client management.
Tactical - day to day
- Working closely with relevant practice and sector BD teams including the Proposals, Digital and Design teams, together with Finance and Management Information.
- Generating and calculating any required business analysis including: client strategy, client structures, revenue and profitability (including gap analysis), relationship mapping, market share, competitor activity, developments in the client's markets and client needs analysis.
- Delivering communication and information between stakeholders and the Business Development Managers.
- Managing or co-managing proposals with the proposals team, where these do not fall within the remit of the BD Managers in the practices; ensuring the smooth delivery of commitments promised in successful proposals.
- Cultivating and developing direct client contact and relationships with a wide range of roles.
- Assisting in the development of a secondment strategy, if appropriate, and managing the secondees for your client accounts.
- Contributing to the development of best practice toolkits and training sessions to assist the firm in its roll-out of relationship management best practice.

Technical experience and skills
- Client relationship management experience in a large service organization.
- Good client service focus.
- Will be required to demonstrate strong creativity and project management skills.
- Good management and communication skills.
- Advanced writing skills and attention to detail.
Personal skills/ attributes
- Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well in a time-sensitive situation.
- Advanced communication skills.
