We're hiring for an Account Director to join on a fixed term contract until May 2025 as part of our Carat Hub in London to work on the Kellanova account; one Carat's largest clients with many leading household brands such as Coco Pops, Cornflakes, Special K, and Pringles.

Purpose of the Role

As Account Director you'll be part of the EU Market Planning team on the Cereals and portable snacks business unit and include brands such as Special K, Rice Krispies, Pop Tarts, alongside umbrella campaigns. You'll be focused on briefing local market and central buying teams on the central media strategy, ensuring that strategy is reflected in the detailed media plans that are built, supporting these local and central teams toward timely campaign launches, and monitoring pacing & performance throughout.

The Carat London hub manages €90m+ of spend across Europe, with centralised strategy and planning and local execution. Kellanova's are at the forefront of strategy and digital excellence, and we work closely with them across many channels, including TV/VOD, OOH, Online Video, Paid Social, Custom Partnerships, & Influencer Programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Comms Planning Client Director & Planning Partner to ensure media strategy is delivered within the detailed media plans, ensuring masterplans and central reporting dashboard is up to date.
  • Brief local markets and the central digital team and sense-check plans vs. briefed strategy
  • Work in collaboration with Kellanova central media team and deliver strong, proactive client service.
  • Organise and run mid-campaign performance reporting & optimisation calls (KUBEs).
  • Manage the delivery of multiple workstreams through effective mobilisation of Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) resources / people to meet client expectations.
  • Manage client requirements across the network through responding in a timely and accurate manner to client requests for information, working seamlessly to manage & mobilize internal stakeholders and colleagues across DAN to address Kellanova requests.

Qualifications + Skills

  • Experience of managing markets across Europe, coupled with planning expertise; able to review detailed plans for quality assurance & strategic integrity.
  • A background in Digital & TV media planning with a holistic view of Bought, Owned, and Earned (BOE) media.
  • Ability to contribute to strategic negotiations and can demonstrate flexibility in style depending on situation and stage of negotiation.
  • Understands commercial terms of the contract and considers all aspects of the plan from a commercial perspective and in relation to the original brief.
  • General understanding of business models and trends, particularly within the client sector coupled with external market awareness both in the media industry and client-specific challenges.
  • Thinks and acts proactively to create regular contact opportunities with Kellanova & Carat team members, sharing information, experience, and insight with client to build trust and mutual respect.
  • Excellent communicator with clear verbal, written, presentation, & listening skills with internal and external stakeholders, both senior and junior

What we offer

This role is being offered as a fixed term contract until May 2025. The team is based in our London office but operates under flexible working arrangements. The team are currently in the office two days per week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
