Our UK teams work across multiple global markets servicing the Microsoft line of business as an EMEA hub, covering the most exciting brands within Gaming & the biggest developments across consumer technology.

We're hiring for a Client Account Director to join our team in London.

Purpose of the Role

As Account Director you'll focus on the Microsoft Commercial account, responsible for the client's B2B product across EMEA and in the major local fields, leading strategic initiatives and driving exceptional results for our client. You'll be the primary liaison between Carat and Microsoft, overseeing the development and execution of tailored media strategies to meet the client's business objectives. You'll play a pivotal role in fostering strong client relationships, guiding a team of talented professionals, and ensuring the successful implementation of media campaigns.

By leveraging market insights, industry expertise, and innovative thinking, you'll shape the direction of media plans, optimise campaign performance, and ultimately contribute to the growth and success of both the client's business and the agency. Reporting into the Client Director, collaborating closely to align strategies, drive innovation, and ensure the delivery of outstanding service to Microsoft. Together, the Account Director and Client Director form a dynamic leadership team dedicated to driving growth and fostering long-term success for the Microsoft account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Microsoft account, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding the client's business objectives and develop media strategies aligned with their goals.
  • Conduct regular meetings and presentations to update the client on campaign performance, industry trends, leading the development of innovative media strategies and plans tailored to the B2B products of Microsoft.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including channel activation planners, and external media owners/ publishers, utilising market research, consumer insights, and industry trends to inform media recommendations and optimizations.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of media campaigns with a strong focus on digital across various channels including paid social, search, display, and partnerships.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyse data, and provide insights to drive continuous improvement and achieve KPIs.
  • Oversee budget allocation and financial management for the Microsoft account, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial targets, monitoring revenue forecasts, billing processes, and invoicing to maintain financial health and profitability.

Qualifications + Skills

  • Extensive experience in media planning, account management, or related roles within a media agency or marketing environment. Experience in B2B is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the digital media landscape and experience with digital marketing platforms and tools.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships, driving business growth, and delivering successful media campaigns.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present ideas persuasively and build rapport with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in coaching and developing talent.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.

What we offer

This is a permanent role. The team is based in our London office but operates under flexible working arrangements. The team are currently in the office every Wednesday and Thursday, with flexibility needed around client visits and meetings.
