Children's Social Care Front Door Team Manager

Cheshire East Consultation Service (ChECS) is the Children's Social Care Front Door Team. We are co-located within a multi-disciplinary service including the Police, the Commissioned Service for Domestic Abuse, Early Help and the Youth Justice Service. It is a busy vibrant team, who strive to deliver a timely child-focused service to our children and families. You will be working alongside a Team Manager in the Front Door, but also with our Early Help Team and Managers.

We are looking for someone who can build on the excellent progress that Children's Social Care has made in recent years, who can secure an appropriate level of recognition at our next inspection and help us to deliver a good service to our children and families. You will need to be creative and work on initiatives within the Council and beyond to review and improve the Local Offer, lead on the delivery of quality practice in the team on a daily basis, and ensure that it complies with all relevant legislation and statutory guidance. We are ambitious and you will have a key role in both service delivery and service development, working with other managers and partners to deliver a strength-based approach through multi-agency and collaborative working, with a relentless focus on improving outcomes for our children and families.

You will need to be a qualified and registered social worker with extensive experience of working with children in need / child protection or other relevant areas. We are looking for a confident decision maker who can provide leadership, support, and professional development within the team and to colleagues throughout the service. You will need a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing children in need of support and protection in their daily lives, a proven track record of working alongside key partner agencies, be comfortable in handling performance management data and challenge, and have innovative ideas for service delivery and improvement. Above all else, we are looking for someone with passion and resilience who is only interested in achieving the best possible outcomes for our children and families.
