Children's Services Manager

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

This post will report to the ADCS South London locality. You will be based in our Crystal Palace office from where you will be responsible for the management of a multi-disciplinary team and service provision for Supported Accommodation across different Local Authorities. You will work closely with fellow South London locality CSMs and Team Managers, to ensure all services operate safely and have a demonstrable positive impact for Children and Young People.

Barnardo's South London locality is a hub of different support services for Children and Young People who are in or leaving the care of Local Authority Children's Services. The post-holder of this CSM post will be responsible for the management of our Supported Accommodation Services and may be required to provide CSM support to our other services within the locality.

Barnardo's Supported Accommodation service currently includes our Kickstart Futures work in Sutton and Croydon. However, this is a growth area for the themed area and new work is expected to come on stream.

The Sutton Kickstart Futures Service provides floating support to Care Leavers, including Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and survivors of Human Trafficking, who live in 1 of the service's identified properties, or are based in the community. The service aims to prepare Young People for independent living by providing direct 1:1 and group support hours to Young People. The service typically provides a minimum of 5 hours per week of support hours to each Young Person, although this can vary based on the circumstances and needs of individual Young People.

Croydon Kickstart Futures is similar to the Sutton work but also includes a housing management element. Currently we are managing 2 flats which provide accommodation for 4 young people.

This post is for 18.5 hours a week. The team is made up of a team manager and 5 support workers and admin support. The successful candidate will have a background in working with care leavers as they transition to independence and strong management skills

This is a positive change for the charity, and a part of our People & Culture Strategy. It will assist us in supporting colleagues to belong, thrive and grow in their colleague journey at Barnardo's and in time will offer clear routes of progression for colleagues in both their career and their pay.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band - this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours. More details on Barnardo's pay framework can be found upon application.
