Grade: G11; Salary: £46,464 - £51,515

Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours per week. The role is hybrid, with the post holder located at Walsall council buildings at least two days a week to support collaboration.

About the role

We are looking for a Commissioning Manager to join the team to support us to provide great services for children and young people here in Walsall. This role would suit a skilled and experienced commissioner who is looking to progress their career in a management role.

The role will focus on a range of children's specialist commissioning areas including joint commissioning, fostering and residential provision for children in care and those with complex needs including special education needs and disabilities.

The role will lead on developing and maintaining relationships with regional commissioning partners, with care providers and with health commissioners and corporate colleagues.

You will have a key role in commissioning, contract management and quality assurance in a small commissioning team. You will be expected to make an effective contribution that results in improved outcomes for children, young people and their families.

About you

With a degree level qualification (or similar) in a relevant subject, you'll be an experienced commissioner with a track record of commissioning across strategic priorities. You will be able to analyse and interpret complex data from a variety of sources to inform commissioning priorities and shape key policy and strategies. You'll support and facilitate partnerships with a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders, and external organisations to understand and develop markets to reflect evolving need.
