Salary: FC7 £32,437.03 to £40,358.57

Work Pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Details

We are looking for a Childcare Manager to manage and oversee a cluster of out of school clubs for school aged children across Dunfermline.

Each Out of School Club is registered with the Care Inspectorate and are designed to support families to access employment or further education, while children are able to access quality play-based activities and experiences.

The Childcare Manager will be fully responsible for the day-to-day management of their cluster, the direct management of a team of Childcare Practitioners and Senior Childcare Practitioners.

The Person

If you meet the essential criteria outlined below, we'd like to hear from you:

  • You must hold as a minimum a relevant professional qualification recognised by the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) for the purpose of professional registration at SCQF Level 7 or above which would include an HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
  • You must be eligible to register with the SSSC in the category of Manager of a Day Care of Children Service and hold or be willing to work towards an SCQF Level 9 qualification such as the PDA 9 Childhood Practice or BA Childhood Practice.
  • You should have experience of working with children and young people between the age of 4 to 19 years, including the planning, preparation and delivery of activities tailored to the individual needs of children.
  • You should have knowledge of key local and national guidance, best practice, and legislation.
  • You must have experience of managing or supervising people.
  • You must have IT skills.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

You are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period.

As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
