With continued growth, they are looking to appoint a strong Chef Manager to lead one of their flagship school contracts.

The Package

  • Salary: £45,000 per annum
  • Term Time Only - 42 weeks
  • Monday to Friday
  • Working hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm (40 hours per week)

The Job Role

This Chef Manager role is based at a flagship secondary school site

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of 12-15 staff
  • Managing high-volume service with approximately 1,000 daily covers
  • Overseeing both main restaurant service and grab & go offer (40/60 split)
  • Delivering a fresh food-led offer with a focus on quality and consistency
  • Acting as the face of the contract, building strong relationships with the client and stakeholders
  • Managing labour, food costs, and overall site performance
  • Ensuring high standards of compliance, food safety, and service delivery
  • Supporting light hospitality requirements on site

This is a high-profile Chef Manager position, requiring someone who is confident, organised, and consistently operating at a high level.

The Requirements

We are looking for a strong, hands-on Chef Manager with experience in high-volume education or contract catering environments.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience managing large, demanding teams and high-volume sites
  • Be confident in dealing with client relationships, including more demanding stakeholders
  • Be a strong leader who can motivate and develop teams
  • Have a solid understanding of commercial performance and cost control
  • Be passionate about fresh food and quality delivery
  • Be adaptable and aligned with a people-first culture
  • Be ambitious and looking for long-term progression
