About the role:

This role will be accountable for implementing, developing and leading the organisations IT change and Release processes.

As a member of the Operations & Service Delivery Team you will work within an ITIL based framework to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Change Management and Release processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Chair the weekly Change Advisory Board.
  • Ownership of the Change & Release Management process and procedures and responsible for ensuring these are followed.
  • Ensure that all changes are deployed via project deployments and released in the correct manner.
  • Implement and manage the change & release calendars to ensure a centralised view of all changes being released into production.
  • Ensure post implementation reviews are carried out for all released changes.
  • Forward plan all change release windows.
  • Work with development and project teams to ensure that deployment, runbooks, implementation, and rollback plans are produced, peer reviewed and tested ahead of any change being released.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required.
  • Coordinate with development, testing, and other teams to ensure smooth release planning and execution.
  • Create regular detailed and accurate reports for the IT Management Team.
  • Manage and mitigate risks and issues that may impact the release schedule.
  • Monitor the release process and resolve any issues that arise during deployment.
  • Ensure that all releases meet quality standards before deployment.
  • Regular reviews on the efficiency and effectiveness of Change & Release Management activities / process.
  • Work with DHL Change Management function to ensure that DHL eCommerce UK adhere to Change & Release Management standards.
  • Ensure all new or amended Services are delivered into the live service portfolio with minimum impact to the live service operation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance release efficiency and quality.
  • Analyse and report on release performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Escalation of issues to IT Service Delivery Manager & Head of IT - Operations and Service Delivery as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a Change Management and Release Management role.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standard change and service implementation management methodologies.
  • Experience within the parcel delivery industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
