Steer Automotive Group is an award-winning accident repair business that values integrity, excellence and innovation in everything we do. We are looking for a Central Parts Manager to lead our dynamic Central Parts Team based in Tamworth.
About the Role
As Central Parts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing operations within our Central Parts Team. You will drive procurement efficiency, maximise parts profitability and ensure a smooth and seamless operation of the department. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment while maintaining the highest standards of service, efficiency and productivity.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the parts department, providing clear direction and support.
- Implement and adhere to the company's parts procurement strategy.
- Set department objectives and provide regular performance feedback.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organisation and focus.
- Ensure timely fulfilment of daily parts orders.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with suppliers and external representatives.
- Promote teamwork and professionalism within the team while strengthening relationships with customers and colleagues across the business.
- Manage Autoflow and procurement portals, overseeing stock control, obsolete stock, and first-time parts availability.
- Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to profit and procurement.
- Maintain office organisation and housekeeping standards.
- Support the Regional Manager with team performance management.
- Monitor and maintain the ticketing system for ad-hoc purchases.
- Oversee the supply chain, identifying areas for improvement and addressing concerns.
- Ensure back-ordered parts are actively chased and source alternatives when necessary.
About You
We are looking for an exceptional candidate with proven experience in automotive parts procurement, ideally from an accident repair background.
You will have:
- Experience in an automotive parts department and the motor trade.
- Insurance repair knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to promote teamwork and professionalism with the Parts Department as well as develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work proactively and efficiently both as part of a team and individually.
- Excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail.
You will ideally have previous experience in a team leader or supervisory role.
