Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Professional qualification
  • Current Registration with professional body
  • Broad clinical experience relevant to the post
  • A proven track record of operational service management at a senior level in an acute and community environment, including staff management, financial management and change management.
  • Evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience to Masters level
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development with evidence

Desirable criteria

  • A Masters level qualification or a post graduate qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Teaching qualification or experience
  • Demonstrate evidence of interest in research at degree or masters level
  • Post Registration Management Qualification
  • Post registration training/education/qualification in clinical supervision/ safeguarding supervision

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrable previous success in leading and delivering change and performance with and through clinical teams, by engaging them in the strategic direction and delivery plans, establishing clear work priorities with them, delegating effectively, ensuring a capability to deliver monitoring performance and giving feedback.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions to address them.
  • Ability to think and plan strategically, tactically and creatively and to prioritise work programs in the fact of competing demands.
  • A strong sense of personal and team accountability, coupled with a clear understanding of the boundaries around delegated authority.
  • Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners to create the conditions for successful partnership working.
  • A good understanding of the changing NHS environment
  • Experience of managing health teams
  • Experience of managing staff performance
  • Experience of workforce planning and knowledge of clinical governance
  • Experience of working collaboratively with a variety of agencies and professionals
  • Experience of complex Safeguarding provision, training, and supervision
