Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Nurse
- ALS certification
Desirable criteria
- GIC course
- Non medical prescriber
Skills and abilities
Essential criteria
- Communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of patient assessment and initial management.
- Ability to recognise patient deterioration, respond and escalate appropriately.
Desirable criteria
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work to strict timelines and under pressure.
- Ability to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and professional judgement
- Awareness of the clinical management of patients in a range of critical care settings
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience working within a critical care environment/CCU/ED
- Experience of teaching
Desirable criteria
- Management/Leadership experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of government targets and Trust objectives
- Demonstrates up to date knowledge, self-development and expertise in the specialty.
- knowledge around Martha's Rule/Call for Concern
Other
Essential criteria
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Demonstrates awareness of quality improvement, research and evidence - based practice
- Flexible approach to work patterns
- Physically able to attend cardiac arrest calls and assist as a member of the team.
- Good dexterity to carry out emergency procedures e.g. defibrillation, cannulation within their own scope of practice
