ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing a strategic IT category management plan and the underlying sourcing strategies, supplier, and contract management as well as policy and regulatory compliance
Responsible for ensuring that the IT category management plan is fully integrated and adopted within relevant Faculties and Services.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Procurement team is part of the University Finance team and consists of several Category Managers, Specialist and Buyers. They are supported by a buyer team who cover day to day operational activities and processing tasks.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in the role you will:
- have substantial experience in developing and leading a strategic IT category plan, including developing strategic sourcing strategies, and using market knowledge and data analysis to inform the underlying strategy and decisions
- be able to lead tenders and supplier commercial and contract negotiations focusing on achieving value for money as well as direct savings
- have experience in building strategic relationships with key stakeholders to achieve a position as trusted advisor on procurement and commercial matters
- have knowledge of current procurement standards and regulations and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with these
- have personal strength of character, professional independence and integrity, and a commitment to transparency, honesty, and fairness
- have an undergraduate degree, preferably in a discipline relevant to the role, and/or substantial professional experience and are CIPS qualified to level 6 or have extensive equivalent experience
