The Role

We are recruiting for a Plumbing, Heating and Sanitaryware Category Manager to join our commercial team. A professional Plumbing, Heating and Sanitaryware Category Manager with relevant experience in complex and diverse environments, working successfully both independently and highly collaboratively.

Demonstrates effective decision making, aligns priorities to the company goals and is committed to achieving targets.

Acting with (internal and external) customers in mind, able to find and embrace innovative and more efficient ways to do things to facilitate winning with our customers.

Projects an optimistic and energetic 'can do' attitude, gains commitment from all parties involved through excellent influencing skills and stakeholder management across the organisation.

The Requirements

• Support the creation of incremental value through excellent negotiation skills with all suppliers within the portfolio.
• Responsible for executing the Category strategy.
• Able to develop Category plans using Customer & Market insights.
• In conjunction with the wider Team active in the process of delivering the pricing strategy for the Category.
• Support development of the customer experience to include promotional activity, space planning &in-branch look & feel.
• Identifies trends in pricing and able to build plans to optimise margin.
• Support the delivery of the company profitability targets.
• Monitors Category results, identifies trends in the business and market environment and drives Product Group performance.
• Provides monthly reporting on savings, benefits, key initiatives, and projects through development of an effective Category Management dashboard (KPIs).

• Extensive, multi-year track record of delivery in a high-performance organisation, ideally within the building materials supply sector.
• Category/Product Management experience, as well as in operating companies.
• Good understanding of Category Management principles in a B2C environment, understanding the various stakeholders & decision makers across the supply chain.
• Resilient negotiator and influencer who can deliver under high pressure, excels in relationship development.
• Exceptional problem-solving.
• Excellent financial and analytical skills, creative and communicates clearly.
• Effective at cross-functional teamwork.

The Hours

Monday to Friday - 09:00 to 17:00 with 30 mins unpaid lunch break
