What are we looking for
We are seeking an experienced and driven Procurement Manager to lead a £35 million annual spend across a broad and complex base of over 200 suppliers. This is a pivotal role within our organisation as we scale up operations, modernise processes, and enhance value delivery across all direct product categories. You'll also lead and develop a team of two Buyers in what is a strategically important and fast-evolving part of our business.
Reporting to the Procurement Director, you will be accountable for all aspects of direct product procurement including machining, electrical items, fabrications, vessels, electrolyser components, and hardware spend ensuring robust supplier management, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
You'll act as a strategic partner to key stakeholders across the business, while also being hands-on in shaping sourcing decisions and process improvements in a growing, high-change environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a £35 million indirect procurement spend across a supplier base of over 200
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of two Buyers to deliver best-in-class procurement support
- Deliver cost savings, risk reduction, and improved value across all direct product categories
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business needs and priorities
- Build effective supplier relationships and ensure robust contract management and compliance
- Lead tendering, contract negotiations, and supplier performance reviews
- Support continuous improvement of procurement processes, tools, and reporting
- Partner with stakeholders across operations, finance, operations, IT, and other departments to align procurement efforts with business strategy
About You
- Strong experience in direct product procurement, ideally within a multi-category, multi-supplier environment
- Proven people management and leadership capabilities
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with a results-oriented mindset
- Ability to work in a high-growth, fast-changing business and drive change where needed
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing at all levels
- Proficient in procurement systems, data analysis, and contract management
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable
