Lancashire Central Procurement Services is seeking to appoint an experienced Category Manager to join the Service.

The position will focus primarily on providing procurement solutions for the in-house operational service areas which includes the responsibility to develop and manage compliant purchasing strategies for a range of goods, services, minor works and major infrastructure projects within the county of Lancashire.

As a category manager you will have proven experience in delivering a range of procurement procedures and solutions, working in close collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders, being proactive and effective at managing the end-to-end procurement cycle.

Experience in managing tender processes, supplier selection, contract award and contract implementation ensuring effective communication is maintained throughout.

Demonstrate the ability to build strong collaborative and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.

Ability to work closely with end-users, operational service areas and legal services to assist in developing specifications, performance metrics, and the preparation of tender and contract documents.

Excellent communication and analytical skills and the ability to work closely with other team members of the Procurement Service.

Ability to work under your own initiative and the ability to manage the timely delivery of multiple projects.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience of public procurement and the Public Contracts Regulations is desirable but not essential.

Location

The post is based in County Hall, Preston however a hybrid remote working arrangement is in place where work can be undertaken remotely (home working)
