We're looking for Category Manager's to join our Nuclear Decommissioning / Transfer and Deconstruction team.

Nuclear Decommissioning (ND) is responsible for delivering the seamless transfer of our AGR sites to Magnox and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA); the purpose of the AGR Transfer Programme is to deliver this outcome.

As a Category Manager within the AGR Transfer Programme you'll be responsible for working collaboratively with the ND Business Design team, the Stations, Magnox and the rest of the ENGL business to ensure an integrated and coherent plan for the delivery of your Category.

You'll establish and provide leadership and governance for an effective and consistent delivery capability across your Category.

You'll do this based on your strong project and programme management experience as well as co-ordinating and influencing stakeholders including Magnox, the NDA, regulators and other third parties.

This is a fantastic and challenging opportunity working across organisations to deliver an outcome which is critical for ENGL and the wider nuclear industry.

What you'll be doing

As one of our Category Manager's you'll carry out several duties and responsibilities including:

  • You'll package and initiate the work necessary to deliver your Category outcomes.
  • You'll hold the relevant Programme/Workstream/Project Managers to account for the safe delivery of Category outcomes as well as ensuring delivery of Projects and activities within defined time, cost and quality parameters to deliver maximum value to the business and the Nuclear Liabilities Fund (NLF).
  • You'll advise, challenge and direct the development and implementation of key delivery strategies aligning to the ND mission.
  • Support ND in the ongoing development, implementation and embedding of continuous learning and best practice.
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships, both internal and external to ensure alignment and support for Category strategy and delivery including; Magnox, NDA and regulators.

Who you are

You'll have a demonstrable record of success in leading complex, major Projects and/or Programmes of a strategic nature in a highly regulated operational environment. Experience of working in the nuclear industry would be advantageous.

As one of our Category Manager's you'll be fully versed in modern Portfolio, Programme and Project Management techniques within complex, multi-functional organisations. Ideally, you'll hold Portfolio/Project/Programme management qualifications such as APM.

Experience of managing a range of key internal and external stakeholders is required, and you'll have the proven ability to influence and develop relationships, as well as handling cross-fleet co-ordination and management.

Ideally, you'll be educated to degree level preferably in Engineering, Science or an equivalent discipline. If you hold a relevant Chartership, this will be considered advantageous.
