Job summary

We are looking to recruit an highly experienced Head of Quality for the Cancer Directorate Encompassing: The Department of Oncology Including Radiotherapy and Medical Physics, The Department of Haematology including Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Programme, Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy Programme and Cambridge Cellular Therapy Laboratory (CCTL), Urology, Gynae- Oncology and Breast-Oncology.

You will be responsible for for the strategic direction, management, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the quality management systems i.e. QPulse, to enable compliance to all related regulatory, professional and accreditation requirements including JACIE, CHKS, ISO 9001:2015, OECI, HTA and CQC.

You will have substantial experience of Quality management, auditing to ISO 9001:2015 requirements within a healthcare setting, experience of accreditations including JACIE, CHKS, OECI, HTA and CQC and significant experience of Qpulse.

Main duties of the job

Be Accountable lead for quality management across the Cancer Directorate including the management of the Quality Assurance Team.

Ensure that the processes for the Quality Management Systems (QMS) are established, implemented, maintained and continuously improve.

Facilitate, co-ordinate and maintain the delivery of an effective quality management programme within the Cancer Directorate and associate departments.

Co-ordinate the alignment of the QMS's policies and procedures across all specialities within the Cancer Directorate.

Manage the process of and where necessary produce data and reports on performance, measuring against set standards.

Liaise with multiple staff groups (e.g. Nursing, AHP, Admin, Management, Clinical) throughout the Cancer Directorate on the performance of the QMS and any need for improvement.

Be the Quality Management Lead for the Cancer Directorate on all inspections, liaising with external assessment bodies on all matters relating to the accreditation processes.

Support and train Directorate staff and be accountable for all aspects of the quality of service delivered by the Quality Assurance team.

  • Educated to undergraduate degree level or equivalent in the field of health sciences or biological sciences

  • Substantial Quality management experience within healthcare and scientific setting and/or Cellular Therapy
