About The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Buying Manager - Nuts & Dried Fruit (NDF) to join our onsite Procurement Team in Telford, Shropshire.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Own the Overall Procurement Strategy for Nuts & Dried Fruit (NDF)
• Manage the onsite Procurement team in Telford
• Regularly maintain, manipulate and manage our Procurement Reporting, data & Analysis
• Supplier Management & Development, ensuring key relationships
• Inventory Management of NDF
• Budget Management & Analysis for the NDF category
• Raw Materials & Finish Goods Contracting
• Work with the Technical team to ensure Food Safety & Compliance is a top priority on site
• Work with the Legal team to ensure GSCOP compliance
• Maintain understanding of live market conditions in the Nuts & Dried Fruit (NDF) sector
• Managing internal and external stakeholders to deliver within critical timescales
What are we looking for?
• Relevant buying experience in retailer or wholesaler / in a similar industry. Nuts & Dried Fruit category experience would be beneficial
• Must be an advocate for delivering outstanding customer service
• Integrity and credibility with a track record of delivery of financial targets
• Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
• A good instinct for business, commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Ability to influence across cross business functions who often have differing & conflicting priorities, to ensure key tasks are prioritised and landed
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills through using both verbal and non-verbal persuasion skills to convince others to take appropriate action to reach a mutual agreement
