We're looking for a Buyer to work with some of our most high-profile supplier partners in the Health & Beauty Space. You'll be working with some of the biggest brands in the world to build ranges and trading plans that will deliver our ambitious financial goals as well as delight our customers and win market share for Currys. There's huge innovation and room for growth in these categories, so a passion for new tech and delivery products that customers love is essential. We'll want to hear about how you've built compelling ranges and delivered for customers as well as on the crucial financial metrics. Ideally, you'll be able to evidence building a plan that maximises sales and margin within the budgets and financial guiderails set. You'll also support development of your team and be a critical part of helping ensure this is a great place to work.

Role overview:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Directly manage the Commercial relationship of one of our cornerstone categories
  • Ensure that the category is always striving for a market leading range
  • Establish credible relationships with suppliers to ensure the best cost, best supply and best delivery for our customers
  • Be aware of the marketplace activity and innovations, and using this information to ensure that the category is performing
  • Work collaboratively with the merchandising team to ensure all metrics are hit across sales and stock
  • Contribute to projects within the Commercial team and the wider CurrysGroup
  • Responsible for the management and development of an Assistant Buyer direct report

You will need:

  • Experience at Buyer/Junior Buyer level with extensive knowledge & experience of supplier negotiation & supplier relationship management
  • Good judgment and strong decision-making skills to enable the right actions for the category
  • Good commercial awareness and appreciation of customer needs
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel
