About the Team
The Business Transformation unit at Schroders follows a hub and spoke distributed model, with divisional change teams embedded within each business division, all forming part of a central Business Transformation function.
The Role
As the Business Transformation Director for the Complex Client & Commercial Portfolio, you will lead the shaping and delivery of the change portfolio across Schroders' entities to meet strategic business objectives. With an exceptional track record of leading and delivering complex and challenging transformational change, you will define and deliver change programmes that align with Schroders' strategic goals.
Role Responsibilities
The key abilities we're looking for in this role include:

  • Accountable for the delivery of the Complex Client and Commercial Change Portfolio.
  • Empower cross-functional teams to implement operational improvements.
  • Oversee technology delivery as part of the change portfolio.
  • Demonstrate expertise in tactical and strategic needs.
  • Monitor and implement changes to strategic initiatives.
  • Master business transition, readying, and facilitating change management
  • Participate actively in the Portfolio Governance Board.
  • Lead the Change Board, ensuring effective governance.
  • Manage budgets, ensure value for money and delivery benefits.
  • Oversee resolutions to project escalations.
  • Line manage change team members, supporting their development and maintaining a culture of collaboration and performance improvement.

  • Effective delivery and execution of programmes
  • Maintaining budget limitations and prioritising programmes
  • Ensuring design governance and full transparency in portfolio delivery
  • Transparency in programme status
  • Timely resolution of programme risks and issues
  • Feedback from staff surveys

Qualifications & Skills
We require a candidate with:

  • Proven experience as a Transformation Director, or significant similar position.
  • Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • Change leadership and strategic transformation experience.
  • Understand multiple delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Degree level education, or equivalent.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex client relationships in the financial services industry, a strong understanding of commercial portfolio management strategies, excellent negotiation skills, competence in commercial risk assessment, and fluency in financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modelling.
