The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Business Support Manager to work within our Policy & Strategy Team.
The purpose of the role is to provide high level professional and operational support to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and to work closely, and support the Strategy team to ensure the delivery of their strategic objectives.
This role involves working closely with the CSO to ensure that all activities, both internal and external, are effectively coordinated, escalated and delegated as appropriate. The role also involves focusing on maintaining strong stakeholder relationships as well as providing proactive and efficient operational support to the wider Strategy team, assisting in the running of a high-functioning product team, and driving collaboration and continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for proactively managing complex diaries - setting reminders for meetings, appointments and other important tasks, anticipating requirements as well as inbox management.
You will work closely with the CSO to keep them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately and act as a "barometer," having a sense for the issues taking place.
You will be the first point of contact for colleagues and stakeholders be the "gatekeeper" and "gateway" providing a bridge for smooth communication between the CSO and their team, demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility and trust.
You will anticipate requirements in advance of meetings, conferences, etc and direct any queries that come into the CSO to more appropriate colleagues when necessary.
You will have have oversight of the team's OpEx budgets and responsibility for the raising and tracking of PO numbers for Strategy operational spend and procurement of suppliers and be responsible for travel and accommodation bookings, expenses etc, in line with BBB policies
You will also be responsible for tracking of actions from various committees and work closely with members of the Secretariat team to ensure smooth running of board meetings and committee meetings.
To be considered for this role you must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Office
With previous experience working for ExCo / SLT / Director level.
You will have demonstrable organisational and prioritisation skills with prior experience of event management as well as experience of working with internal and external stakeholders.
