We are looking for a team player to provide a comprehensive contract management function on behalf of NHIS as a shared service, both in terms of managing developments to contracts for services provided, and managing the effectiveness of contracts where NHIS consume services. The post holder must be an excellent communicator, an agile learner, and equipped to provide financial overview presentations for customers and partners.
This post is lead for:

- and financial reporting

NHIS work across two operational sites, Byron Court in Arnold Nottingham, and from Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, King's Mill Hospital site in Sutton-in-Ashfield. Our team are working with a hybrid model of working some days in the office, and some days working off site or at home, however this remains under review given the requirements of the NHS response to Covid-19.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the direct line manager responsible for the delivery of the Business Support Service Line encompassing the Internal Digital Business function and the finance function. This includes ensuring that our customers receive excellent customer service through the provision of timely and high-quality quotes, the effective monitoring of contract performance, and ensuring any required improvements are implemented.
The post holder will support the Head of Corporate and Business Support Head of Corporate and Business Support and be responsible for the strategic direction of the Business Support function within the NHIS. Closely aligning with our customers, the post holder will ensure that all ICT related issues are comprehensively and effectively addressed through proactive and best practice ICT processes and the effective management of internal services and third party contracts.

Knowledge
Essential
- Must possess an understanding of the use of information, informatics related national strategies and policies
- Has understanding of the role and importance of health informatics
- Has significant managerial experience in a business support or customer engagement role, preferably in an NHS environment, and be experienced in managing staff and projects
- Knowledge of current health and social care agenda
- Demonstrates an understanding of procurement processes and supplier contract management
- Knowledge of the national, regional and local drivers in relation to business relationship management
Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to first degree level in an appropriate discipline. In possession of or working towards to Master's degree or be willing to undertake
- In possession of the PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation Qualification
- Recognised advanced qualification in use of Microsoft Office e.g. MOST Expert or ECDL Advance d
- ITIL Service Management
Desirable
- In possession of the PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner Qualification

- Significant overall experience of working in an operational capacity in a health care setting, with at extensive' experience at a senior level
- Experience of setting up/facilitating events for groups of varying sizes
- Proven experience of completing business support activities, such as the development of key corporate documents
- Experience of managing and delivering a major information system
- Experience of developing innovative business support initiatives which will help improve quality and performance throughout organisation
- Experience of managing complex programmes of work using the PRINCE2 methodology
- Ability to negotiate supplier contracts/costs
- Proven advanced communication skills and an ability to communicate highly complex information clearly and concisely to stakeholders with varying degrees of understanding. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
