The Role:
We are seeking two highly skilled Business Reporting Managers to join our finance team in two exciting areas of Council activity. One role will support our services and directorates with all areas of financial planning. The second role will support the Council Owned Entities through the business planning and performance reporting cycle. For each role the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and co-ordinating financial information that supports strategic decision-making. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and actionable manner. Additionally, the candidate will be adept at managing people and small teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage business reporting processes.
- Analyse and interpret data to provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate data.
- Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all reports.
- Managing people and teams
Working Pattern:
The role is 37 hours a week and will require hybrid working.
What you'll need to succeed:
Essential skills and Knowledge
- Qualifications & Experience: You are CCAB qualified or hold a degree in a relevant subject with significant relevant experience in financial accounting, experience of managing teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: You have a strong understanding of medium-term financial planning and forecasting, ensuring accurate and strategic financial advice.
- Organisational skills: You are able to co-ordinate work across the team to ensure efficient and effective management of finance reporting and team activities. Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Clear Communication and presenting information: You excel at explaining complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner to non-financial managers.
- Coaching and mentoring: You foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team, setting clear goals and monitoring performance.
- Relationship Building & collaboration: You have proven ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and external partners.
