About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading and Havant.

Salary: £63,000 - £94,400 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The IT Platform Change and Transformation function is accountable for delivering all objective key results (OKRs) that are funded and committed within the GTS IT Portfolio, circa £30M per annum. The GTS Portfolio Manager will work closely with the GTS Change Delivery Manager, Head of IT Platform Change and Transformation and Senior Leadership roles to ensure that all change is delivered safely and within agreed guardrails. The portfolio comprises both agile and waterfall type deliveries.

The primary purpose of the Portfolio Manager is the end-to-end management of a large, complex technology portfolio which includes setting governance, standards and controls as well as providing portfolio support into several large value streams. The role is also required to maintain a central portfolio view that enables transparent reporting on performance to a formal governance board monthly, with key stakeholders being the Senior ITLT. The Portfolio Manager will ensure that all stakeholders related to GTS change delivery are aware of their roles and responsibilities and will hold key roles accountable for meeting delivery targets. Where deviations in guardrails are evident, the Portfolio Manager will work proactively with key stakeholders to put rapid recovery plans in place.

Key responsibilities will include leading a team to do the following:

- Portfolio Governance, Standards and Controls - Setting and documenting end to end governance standards and controls. Ensure governance R&Rs are well understood across the GTS function through regular training and communications. Work with external stakeholders such as Architecture, Security and Service Transition to encompass broader standards and governance to form an end-to-end delivery framework.

- Portfolio Assurance - Put the right checks and balances in place to ensure governance and standards are being followed. Ensuring that any deviations are detected quickly and recovery plans are put in place as soon as possible.

- Portfolio Support - To help size and flexibly scale a portfolio support team to support multiple large value streams. Oversee other tasks needed to support the portfolio such as assisting in recruitment and onboarding of resources.

- Portfolio Performance Reporting -Maintain working level portfolio and report weekly to Head of IT Platform Change and Transformation in conjunction with the Change Delivery Manager and ensure weekly Value Stream and Workstream reporting is completed by Delivery Leads.

- Portfolio Shaping and Planning -Co-ordinate integrated planning with Platform Owners and Senior Delivery Leads. Work with key senior stakeholders to consolidate planning inputs into investment proposals to shape the quarterly asks against portfolio for finance and resources.

What do I need?

- Extensive experience in a leadership role driving cadence on a large complex technical portfolio with ability to create a high performing digital portfolio team that can support a large technical portfolio.

- PPM or equivalent Agile qualifications such as Lean Portfolio to support a hybrid delivery framework.

- Extensive experience in production of high-quality governance/standards and managing senior stakeholders and governance boards.

- Experience in leading portfolio change through introducing PPM tools and processes.

- Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills is key for this role along with the ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels.
