Job overview
The Specialist Surgery Directorate has an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager to join their Operational Team supporting the Breast Surgery service. This role is substantive and full time.
The role of Business Manager is diverse and complex involving working intensively with the clinicians and operational leads to support the delivery of the trust objectives including performance improvement, service development, and achieving quality and safety improvements. The post holder will have the requisite management experience to allow them to effectively oversee the operational performance of the team and will possess the personal qualities and skills to deal competently with operational issues.
Main duties of the job
- Demand and capacity planning and management
- Responsible for monitoring performance against target / service level agreement (SLA) and reporting this to the General Manager (GM) and Clinical Director (CD) through the directorate business meeting
- Responsible for delivery of performance targets as delegated by the GM and CD
- Responsible for the delivery of internal and external performance targets relevant to each speciality and to support the GM in achieving service change as appropriate
- To support performance in relation to national targets.
- To report on performance against all standards for health performance indicators. This will include complex Directorate business planning and performance information.
- To be responsible for the performance monitoring of activity on a daily basis, to support the achievement of the Trust's targets and monitor subsequent actions required.

- Relevant first degree
- Recognised management qualification at postgraduate level and/or experience
- Completion of project management skills course, e.g. PRINCE2
