Job Introduction

Main Responsibilities

The Business Manager's role comprises three primary responsibilities:

Firstly, the role supports the Head of Private Banking Proposition by managing the demands of stakeholders, committees and forums, coordinating reporting & submissions, managing the departmental finances, making sure information is consistent and fit-for-purpose and providing the Head with the information needed to provide strong oversight. Deputising for the Head at relevant committees, forums and meeting as required.

Secondly, the Business Manager maintains oversight of all the change initiatives, BCP and business plan initiatives within the Private Banking Proposition function; helping to structure and drive plans, managing, improving and tracking change initiatives and business plans to ensure effective outcomes in line with agreed objectives.

Thirdly, working with the Private Banking Product Leads to create compelling integrated customer propositions, manage proposition roadmap delivery, driving performance in line with business plan objectives using MI, insight and strong performance management oversight & influencing skills.

Extensive experience delivering Business Change and managing a business units' performance in a global organisation, skilled at distilling complex topics into easily understood information, excellent interpersonal skills and a calm, can-do nature.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders to secure support, resources or funding, to influence outcomes and deliver on objectives;
  • Extensive experience working across the entire organisation; a track record of influencing, consulting and collaborating successfully with a wide range of stakeholders from different businesses/disciplines, maintaining credible and trusting relationships;
  • Excellent team player with a strong focus on working together to achieve results.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to develop, manage and enhance business systems and processes;
  • The ability to plan, develop and implement strategic decisions to meet organisational objectives;
  • Drive and energy to support the business and other functions on behalf of the Head of;
  • Ability to interpret business financials & budgets and prepare detailed business cases, including financials;
  • In-depth experience in the preparation of executive reporting and communication;
  • Broad knowledge of the financial sector regulatory framework and experience working with the FCA/PRA and other regulatory bodies
