We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager with a focus on sourcing and managing tender opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying new business through tenders, presenting compelling demonstrations to prospective clients, and successfully closing deals. Location: Initially based in our Hereford office, with travel across the UK for client visits and industry events as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender Sourcing and Management: Proactively identify new tender opportunities through market research, industry networks, and direct outreach, and manage the tender submission process from start to finish.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to meet company goals, with a focus on winning tendered contracts.
  • Client Acquisition and Retention: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients, particularly focusing on converting tender opportunities into long-term relationships.
  • Sales Presentations and Demonstrations: Prepare and deliver tailored product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients, highlighting how our solutions meet their specific needs.
  • Negotiation and Deal Closure: Lead negotiations for tender contracts, ensuring alignment with sales targets and company objectives.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming tenders to ensure allpay stays ahead of the competition and capitalises on emerging opportunities.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, to align sales strategies with broader company initiatives and support tender submissions.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to the management team, including sales forecasts, tender pipeline status, and key wins.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent allpay at relevant industry events, conferences, and exhibitions to raise the company's profile and identify new tender opportunities.

About You

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Proven experience in a Business Development role, with a strong focus on sourcing and managing tenders.
  • Track record of winning business through tender submissions and delivering compelling client presentations.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical solutions to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach to client relationships.
  • Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
  • Comfortable with UK travel for client meetings and events as needed.
