Business Development Manager, Service Plans, Semiconductor Service Division

This role provides a great opportunity to join the growing Business Development team within the Semiconductor Service Division (VSS) of the Vacuum Technique Business Area (VTBA) of the Atlas Copco Group. The role reports into the Head of Business Development, Semiconductor Service Division.

Your Role:

Strategic growth of the Semiconductor Service Division is driven by an active programme of high-value, subscription-based Service Plans as the global semiconductor industry itself enjoys sustained growth and a focus on delivering maximum operational throughput. You will define Service Plans and their business models, create, and drive strategic sales growth plans, and innovate supporting sales processes.

You will work within a high performing and dynamic divisional Marketing and Product Management team. Your principle aims will be to collaborate with Customer Centre (customer facing) teams globally to increase their serviceable available market through the adoption of new Service Plans and associated business models, accelerate the rate and closure of sales deals, and drive innovative engagement of new and existing customers and partners.

Here's how you will help:

As the Business Development Manager, Semiconductor Service, and with a specific focus on Service Plans, you will collaborate closely with relevant Divisional and Customer Centre teams to:

  • Achieve quarterly and annual Service Plan revenue & margin targets.
  • Define and own the business models, scope of work, core terms and conditions for Service Plans, in clear alignment with Divisional and Customer Centre Product Management, Marketing and Operations teams.
  • Coach regional Customer Centre teams in the use and deployment of Service Plans through structured sales/marketing frameworks such as Value Selling, Challenger, the SOSTACĀ® Model and similar.
  • Create, innovate, and champion the use of structured sales processes, sales strategies, supporting tools and templates, collateral, tactical playbooks, business processes, transactional business systems, and performance metrics.
  • Manage and champion the promotion of compelling Service Plans value propositions to the customer ensuring robust, tailored, value-based messages are communicated.
  • Proactively generate and manage strategies to drive an ambitious pipeline of robustly qualified growth opportunities and communicate accurate forecasts and performance metrics across all market segments and the entire product portfolio.
  • Build effective relationships with existing and potential customers and partners.
  • Maintain and communicate internally a detailed knowledge of customer insight (e.g. objectives, unmet needs, key personnel) and competitor insight that supports continuous evolution of VSS sales and marketing strategies to drive differential advantage.

To succeed you need:

  • Strong academic background in marketing, business management or similar. Significant experience in lieu of academic / professional qualifications considered.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a high growth, B2B business development environment, with significant exposure and contribution to subscription-based service business models and contracts.
  • Experience of markets, products, technologies, and services relevant or similar in nature to Edwards' semiconductor business coupled with knowledge of contract management is a strong advantage.
  • Commercial acumen and demonstrated customer engagement skills. Experience of account-based marketing/experience (ABM/ABX), value-based sales, Challenger sale, partnership sales or similar is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytics skills, the ability to see the bigger picture, generate insights and bring new ideas and opportunities to and construct solutions in the form of business and/or marketing plans.
  • Influential relationship builder able to communicate confidently and effectively to senior levels.
  • Team oriented whilst able to work autonomously in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken) essential; Japanese, Korean or Mandarin is an advantage.

The preferred location of this position is Burgess Hill to ensure alignment across divisional workstreams, with partial flexible home-working available. This is a global role that will require regular international travel (c. 10-15%) to engage with customers and Edwards regional teams.
