NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others.

This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

The Role

To assist the Business Winning Teams sales and marketing activities, to promote and sell the expertise and capability of the Company to secure sales as defined in the business / sales and marketing business plan.

Marketing

  • Assist in the preparation of sales and marketing plans in line with the objectives set out in the Company business plan.
  • Support the prospecting for new sales opportunities in line with the business development plan.
  • Ensure client and competitor files are established and maintained.
  • Encourage and support networking to keep abreast of competitor and market sector activity. Action and utilise the intelligence to enhance business development.
  • Direct the communication and referral of appropriate information and intelligence to internal and group colleagues in order to extend business potential.
  • Help oversee the organisation of the Company's physical and intellectual representation at exhibitions, events, dinners, seminars, media articles, professional institutions, client meetings etc. and to attend personally as necessary.
  • Assist in developing marketing approaches and strategies across a range of appropriate and different mediums.

Sales and Bid Support

  • Prepare and undertake sales visits to specific clients to make of sales presentations.
  • Ensure client contacts are developed at a number of levels and are subsequently fostered and maintained.
  • Liaise with internal colleagues over the development and provision of commercial documentation.
  • Support the Tender Review Team, and Contract Reviews through the provision of relevant and informed sales, marketing and commercial information.

Management Information

  • Input into presentation of statistics, data, and any/all necessary information on sales and marketing activity including proposals, quotations, and client visit reports etc.

Commercial Awareness, Liaison & Support

  • Appreciate and understand the potential impact of own actions for the Company, clients and suppliers.
  • Liaise with colleagues within NSG and the NIS Group on sales, marketing and related matters.
  • Liaise with the client and internal colleagues as necessary in order to.
  • Attend and contribute to sales development meetings with clients.
  • Ensure that NSG responds to an enquiry with appropriate course of action.

This role will involve travel throughout the UK to attend various events, expos and also client sites. A company car/allowance will be included as part of the package.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Knowledge/interest in engineering or science-based subject with formal qualification to degree level or equivalent.-Desirable

Experience & Knowledge

  • Willingness to partake in normal business travel- Essential
  • Successfully managing own activity to meet time, cost and information requirements- Essential
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations- Essential
  • Awareness of security importance when dealing with confidential and commercial information.- Desirable

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to evaluate commercial / technical data.- Essential
  • Persuasion and influencing skills- Essential
  • Proven ability to deliver presentations- Essential
  • Awareness of negotiation techniques & structuring of sales approach- Essential
  • Possess full current driving licence- Essential
  • Willing to travel away from home as business demands- Essential
