About the role:

As a Business Development Manager your primary responsibilities will include identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and closing sales to increase our client base and business revenue.

You will be establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships and introducer agreements to enhance our business opportunities. You will manage client relationships effectively, ensuring satisfaction and long-term collaboration.

You will be responsible for regular and accurate reporting of business development activities, providing valuable insights to guide our strategic decisions. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving profitability and helping the business achieve its strategic goals.

About you:

You are able to collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop effective strategies for attracting new clients and monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify further opportunities for growth.

You are diligent in reporting business development activities regularly and accurately, demonstrating transparency and accountability. Analytical by nature, you possess strong problem-solving abilities that help you navigate challenges and seize opportunities.

You have strong organisational and time management skills, enabling you to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently. Not only this, but your strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, market research, and client referrals.
  • Create and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities and results to senior management.
  • Develop relationships and agreements with professional introducers and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies to attract new clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.

Essential skills and experience

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or a related field.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Analytical and able to problem solve effectively.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in creating and negotiating business agreements.
  • Strong presentation and proposal development skills.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Knowledge of market trends and industry developments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative thinking and ability to generate innovative solutions.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools and strategies.

Salary and benefits

up to £65,000 depending on experience, plus discretionary bonus
