Join Our Finovate SpEx Team as a Business Development Manager

Are you ready to drive growth and build relationships in the exciting world of fintech? We're looking for a talented Business Development Manager to join our Finovate SpEx team full-time.

Your Role

You'll report to the Head of Sales for Finovate and take charge of growing revenues and managing accounts for Sponsors. Your expertise may also extend to other Festival Events within the fintech vertical as needed.

What You'll Do

As our Business Development Manager, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Secure sponsorship and exhibition revenues aligned with our portfolio needs and your personal targets. You'll build and maintain a strong pipeline of forecasted opportunities.
  • Generate New Business: Identify and qualify strategic selling opportunities, targeting key markets and clients.
  • Nurture Relationships: Develop key accounts and existing client relationships, spotting and converting opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell.
  • Craft Winning Proposals: Create high-quality proposals and contracts that aid the sales process. You'll provide innovative solutions based on your deep understanding of Finovate's product base.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner effectively with our internal Marketing, Operations, and Production teams to ensure accurate delivery of client and event requirements.
  • Become a Market Expert: Build a thorough understanding of the banking and fintech market, including clients and competitors.
  • Represent Finovate: Attend key Finovate and competitor events, showcasing our brand and building valuable connections.

Your Impact

Qualifications

Previous Experience:

  • SpEx / Media / b2b / industry relevant sales experience
  • Demonstrating a consultative sales process in handling complex briefs, responding with considered and creative solutions
  • Undertaking mapping exercises on both product and client base, and competitor landscape
  • Engaging with stakeholders at a senior level, comfortable in cross/up selling to both acquire new business and grow existing accounts
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com or similar systems, having led and encouraged team members to protect and maintain the integrity of the system

Personal Attributes & Behaviours:

  • A confident and articulate verbal and written communicator who can foster strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Possesses excellent prioritisation skills, has the foresight to anticipate obstacles and displays tenacity in overcoming them
  • Takes pride and personal responsibility for maintaining Informa's brand
