Job Description
We're seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to lead growth in the Financials sector. This is a high-impact role focused on acquiring new clients, expanding strategic relationships, and shaping our go-to-market approach for financial institutions.
You'll work closely with global sales, marketing, and product teams to deliver tailored risk solutions that address the evolving needs of banks, insurers, asset managers, and other financial entities.
Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the Financials sector.
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Lead tailored pitches and proposals, leveraging internal experts and data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with Verisk business units to cross-sell and co-develop integrated solutions.
Strategic Market Growth
- Shape the strategic direction of the Financials vertical in partnership with the Global Head of Business Development.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activity to inform strategy.
- Identify emerging opportunities and contribute to product innovation.
Client & Account Management
- Oversee key client relationships and ensure high standards of service delivery.
- Drive revenue growth through upselling, renewals, and long-term partnerships.
- Ensure contractual and commercial obligations are met with precision and professionalism.
Internal Collaboration
- Coordinate with global sales and marketing teams to align messaging and campaigns.
- Share insights and best practices across teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required
- 3-4 years in client-facing sales roles, with at least 5 years in data analytics, research, or consulting for financial clients.
- Proven track record in new business development and strategic sales.
- Strong consultative selling skills and ability to present complex data solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Commercial acumen and a results-driven mindset.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
Preferred
- Experience selling to the insurance sector.
- Background in research or consulting firms.
- Familiarity with value-based selling methodologies.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Project Management).
