Business Development Manager EMEA 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Business Development Manager, EMEA will support the business development and marketing strategy for the EMEA region. This is a strategic, yet hands on, role which drives the planning and day-to-day delivery of the firm's client development activities.
The EMEA region in Kennedys consists of local offices in Denmark, France, Ireland, Oman, Spain and the UAE. We have dedicated EMEA BD managers in Ireland, Spain and the UAE and the role is to support those offices and those BD team members as well as those offices without dedicated support.
The position is part of a global business development function that helps deliver on Kennedys' vision and strategy to set the standard for insurance defence and coverage, and for complementary dispute resolution and commercial law services.
Team
Kennedys EMEA Business Development team promotes Kennedys services and supports the firm's global growth ambition and our key clients and markets. The EMEA Business Development team helps promote Kennedys niche specialisms, exceptional service, collaborative culture and ground-breaking technology. It also finds distinctive ways to promote the knowledge of our lawyers and innovators in order to help our clients face the future with confidence.
We have Business Development teams in APAC, LATAM, the U.S and the UK.
Key responsibilities
- Work with partners to prepare go to market business plans and support broader initiatives throughout the year. This could include marketing ideas, client activities or new campaigns that will help promote Kennedys specialist global expertise. Support the regional BD lead by contributing to the regional plans and agenda.
- Support submission for legal directories in all of our EMEA jurisdictions
- Work with partners on social media profiling and positioning
- Help partners prepare for strategic pursuits. Operate as a respected and proactive internal consultant, coaching partners and others involved in winning new business in the art of developing competitive, commercial propositions.
- Project manage local and international pursuits. Draft content and contribute to formal panel tenders and informal pursuits e.g. proposal documents, presentations and fee quotes. Analyse opportunities to recommend bid/no bid decisions for local opportunities.
- Draft and manage a library of local content that connects in with the firm's UK pursuit library and templates. Support partners on pitch presentations, win themes and best practice. Manage and feed the Opportunities module for the region.
- Support the regional BD lead and Client Account Managers with lawyer engagement for the firm's Key account programme. Proactively support the management of the firm's key clients. Co-develop client plans and drive the execution of those plans in order to improve the firm's strategic position with each client and increase our share of work. Work closely with lawyers to encourage CRM best practice including, proactive relationship-marking, relationship development activities, client feedback and regular CRM meetings etc.
- Advocate the firm's CRM database at all times. Ensure data is current and segmented to support targeted reporting and e-marketing. Ensure lawyers are tracking all local BD activities and generate regular reports on client BD to help inform and advise the business on ROI.
Required experience

- Minimum of 3+ years in a similar role
